The following DEEP courses run Tuesdays, January 28 through March 4, from 3:15-4:30pm. The cost of each course is just $90 (only $15 per week!), which includes all supplies or materials for the course.

After reviewing the course options with your child(ren), please request their two favorite courses in the Family Portal (complete instructions follow the course descriptions). The course request window opens on Monday, January 13, 2025, and closes at 8am on Monday, January 20, 2025. All requests made by the deadline are considered by Elementary Principal Jill Hart, who makes final enrollment decisions.

Adventures in Art

Instructor: Hannah Lopez
Grades: 2-6
Class size: minimum 5/maximum 12

Showcase your creative flare and hone your artistic skills in this DEEP Art Adventure! Each session we dedicate part of our time to painting our main masterpiece on canvas. When we’re not painting, we’ll dive into a variety of other crafts, using a wide range of materials and techniques, ensuring every day is filled with new creative opportunities. Come create with us!

Beginning Spanish

Instructor: Ana Chavez
Grades: 1-3
Class size: minimum 5, maximum 12

Begin the journey of learning another language. Students will learn basic Spanish from a native Spanish speaker.

Fun with Food

Instructors: Jill Hart and Maloriee Horstman
Grades: 3-6
Class size: minimum 6, maximum 12

Join us for a hands-on class in which you’ll learn and practice basic cooking skills. Learn to read recipes, measure dry and wet ingredients, and find your way around the kitchen. It’s going to be a tasty adventure! Unfortunately, due to recipe restrictions, we are not able to accommodate students with food allergies.

Theater Improv

Instructor: Lindsey Nordby
Grades: 4-6
Class size: minimum 6, maximum 20

Want to have fun, be creative, and try something new? In this class, we dive into the world of improv through awesome games and activities. You’ll get to think on your feet, create wacky characters, and tell funny, unexpected stories—all without a script! Along the way, you’ll build confidence, learn to work with others, and let your imagination run wild. It’s a great way to be silly, take risks, and just have fun while learning some cool acting skills!

How to select a DEEP class

Log in to the Family Portal
Select “Course Request” under the “Student” menu
The selected student is listed at the top of the screen (you will need to repeat the process for each, if you have more than one).
Follow the instructions to select a first and second choice using the drop down lists.
Remember to click “SAVE” at the bottom of the screen to save your choices.
