Parent Partnership Program (P3)

Why P3?

“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” ~ Romans 12:10-12

In the passage above, Paul encouraged the Romans to live a selfless life. The passage remains a challenging exhortation today, no matter where we are in world, including the campus of Front Range Christian School (FRCS). What grade FRCS would receive from Paul in this area? He spent a lot of time teaching, training and encouraging believers to live and trust in Christian community. The lessons are available for us in the Bible, complete with benefits and consequences described within. All we have to do is read them, share them and exercise them. It is difficult to set goals of devotion, love, honor, zeal, spiritual fervor, patience, joy, and service. But we are instructed to employ our education and experience, and our efforts and energy for the sake of our Christian community. It is with this foundation that we began our Parent Partnership Program (P3).

Strong community was, is, and will be the primary goal of our P3 program. While many other benefits exist, our desire to strive towards the aforementioned goals is the main reason we created P3. One glowing example of the success of P3 is the Holy Grounds Café. Some of us on campus still remember that empty space that was the graveyard for broken desks and chairs and worn and tattered books in boxes. Just a few years later the activities of lunches, SCRIP, team award banquets, teacher trainings, fundraising events, team dinners, concerts, performances and even hot cups of coffee or tea are enjoyed there every week! Without P3, it would be impossible to justify the cost to all parents for this wonderful facility. There would be no café and a lot less fun!

We ask all full-time families to consider setting a goal of 60 P3 hours per year. Many families serve far beyond this goal, but 60 hours seems to be a pretty common and attainable goal for families. No matter your family’s goal, our prayer is that the effort is pleasing to God, serves as an example of service to our children, builds our community, and is given cheerfully.

We post service opportunities online. Please choose a way to serve, contact the person designated online, complete the work, and log your time. Logging your hours helps us know where and how families are serving and may help us obtain grants from various foundations.

We will continue to strive to honor, love and serve God and each other with zeal and spiritual fervor. We pray that this will be a distinguishing characteristic of Front Range Christian School.

  • What I enjoy most about the P3 volunteering program is that I get to be involved in the school activities and be a part of the school.

The biggest impact for me was getting to know and volunteer alongside with other parents and staff of FRCS. I cannot wait to volunteer again.

My most memorable and fun experience was when I got the opportunity to talk to the 1st grade class on how Christmas is celebrated in India. The kids were asking a lot of questions and were excited to see the colorful way India celebrates Christmas.

  • As a parent that enjoys volunteering, I love having many options at my fingertips to contribute my time. When we volunteer we get to know other parents, students and faculty. It is a great way for us to be a part of our kids’ lives. So many hours of the day are spent being parents, employees and structure but when we volunteer we get to be a part of the team as equals. Our children get to see us as another person and not just parents or providers.

My first volunteer moment for FRCS was the Cinderella musical. This was our first year with the school and it was the best experience I have ever had. I was able to help in hair, costumes, and even set building. I got to know so many people. Because of this I was able to find a few people who were willing to ride-share. I was able to learn from each teacher that was involved. This gave me the ability to begin my journey in finding other ways to help.

Well this past was super fun, I am unsure I could pick a favorite but I can say that I enjoyed each one in its own unique way. I was part of the hair team for Guys & Dolls and all the victory rolls. I loved seeing how happy the girls were once their hair and makeup were completed. At “Hopefest” I painted the kids’ faces and loved watching the kids who were volunteering talk to the parents about their experience as FRCS as I face-painted their kids. I also am planning on helping with the “Red, White and You” event. I will be face painting at this event also. I just love drawing more kids to such an amazing place that teaches our children to not only love themselves but to love others as Christ loves them.

  • Through my P3 service, I loved meeting so many people from parents, staff and most of all the kids. Since FRCS spans so many age ranges, it was particularly enjoyable to meet elementary kids to young adults getting ready to go off to college.

Volunteering through P3 is such a great way to invest in the school. You feel like you are a part of it. All the working parts come together and you are right in the middle! Our family enjoys serving together when we are able.

My favorite volunteer memory was the Guys and Dolls musical. FRCS is such a special place with so many volunteer opportunities. The musical has a place for everybody to pitch in to support the theater kids. On second thought, it’s not just theater kids but kids that love tech and music and production and lighting and costuming and kids that have so much talent that you get to be a part of! It’s also a place where parents work together to see kids put on the performance of their lives!!

  • My favorite part of volunteering is knowing I am making a positive impact for the school. Our kiddos spend more waking time at school each day during the school year than at home. I want staff to know that our family supports them and loves them, and volunteering is one way we can do this.

Participating in P3 has blessed our family. We feel like we are truly partners on our kid’s educational journey. We have gotten to know staff better and have seen the amazing learning all students are doing!

This past year I attended Explore presentations by the 5th and 6th graders who redesigned the library. It was amazing to see the students’ thought process, design features, research, and scale models for their reimagined space. I then came in to volunteer to help their ideas become reality by cleaning out old items, painting, and doing some maintenance.

  • The best part of P3 is serving alongside other parents…it truly grows a sense of community and fun.

It has helped our family get to know other families, faculty, and staff, which makes us feel richly connected (especially because this was our first year at FRCS).

My favorite memory is praying with Moms in Prayer weekly. There is no better use of my time, than to pray with these moms for the needs of the people connected to FRCS
